All Welcome for St. Patrick’s Day Parade Entries
The Cork St. Patrick’s Festival is calling on all members of the local community to get involved in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade which takes place on Tuesday, 17th March 2009 after a weekend of family entertainment on Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th March.
Entries are being accepted up to Monday, 23rd February and are expected to exceed last year’s event which saw over 1,700 participants take to the streets of Cork city to celebrate Ireland ’s Patron Saint.
Valarie O’Sullivan, Director of Services, Recreation, Amenity and Culture “We are looking forward to all the fantastic entries this year especially after the phenomenal success of last year. We expect this year’s parade to be even bigger and better and are calling on both young and old to get involved and support the local Cork community. Marking the U.N. International Year of Astronomy, the Cork St. Patrick’s Festival and Blackrock Castle Observatory are celebrating with the theme ‘Cosmic Chaos’. Building on the success of last year’s theme ‘Monsters of Marsh’ we felt it appropriate to bring something equally fun but different this year,” she said.
If you would like to participate in this year’s parade, entry forms are available by calling the Cork St. Patrick’s Festival on 021 4924780, by emailing stpatricksfestival@corkcity.ie or downloading the PDF form below.
The Cork St. Patrick’s Festival takes place across three days this year with family entertainment on Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th March and the traditional parade taking place on Tuesday, 17th of March.
