Call on Business Community to get involved in the Cork St. Patrick’s Festival
Cork City Council’s Directorate of Recreation, Amenity and Culture are calling on all local businesses to get involved in the Cork St. Patrick’s Festival and support the event anyway they can. The three day festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th March with the parade taking place on St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday 17th March.
“We are actively encouraging the local business community in Cork to come out and support the festival. It is so important in the current climate to support local community events and to see pillars of the business world leading the way. We are always looking for new sponsors to come on board and get involved in the spirit of what has become a very successful and fun family festival in the heart of the city,” said Valerie O’Sullivan, Director of Services.
“Over 1,700 people participated in the parade last year and we expect it to be even bigger and better than last year with entries flowing in. Our theme this year is ‘Cosmic Chaos’ which we felt very appropriate considering the Blackrock Castle Observatory has joined us in celebrating U.N. International Year of Astronomy,” she said.
Businesses can contact the Recreation, Amenity and Culture Directorate on 02 1 4924780 or by emailing stpatricksfestival@corkcity.ie.
