The RTÉ Concert Orchestra with Elizabeth Cooney & Cara O'Sullivan

A celebration of Paddy’s Day with two of Cork’s finest joining the RTÉ Concert Orchestra as special guests: virtuoso violinist Elizabeth Cooney will perform Mendelssohn’s hugely popular Violin Concerto, and our star soprano Cara O’Sullivan will sing a programme with an Irish flavour. Irish films old and new are conjured up with music from The Quiet Man and Far and Away, and to set feet tapping there are selections from Leroy Anderson’s Irish Suite and Ronan Hardiman’s Lord of the Dance.
Presented by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in association with Cork Opera House
Tickets: €26 (booking fee may apply)

Friday 18 March, 8pm
Kilfenora Céilí Band
The Kilfenora Céilí Band’s story is the story of Irish music itself. Founded in 1909, the band is still on the road 102 years later. It features fiddles, flutes, banjo, and squeezeboxes, and what Folk Roots magazine calls “one of the tightest rhythm sections in the world”. The Kilfenora have consolidated their position as one of the world’s greatest and longest-running Irish céilí bands.
Tickets: €21 (booking fee may apply).
Sat 19 Mar, 8.30pm at the Half Moon Theatre

With Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh on fiddle & hardanger fiddle, Seán Óg on bass clarinet, saxophones & live electronics, Nic Gareiss on percussive dance, and Petter Berndalen on drums and percussion.
Tickets: €15 (booking fee may apply)
