Cork St. Patrick’s Festival, on the Street….

St. Patrick’s Street (From Academy Street to Fr. Mathew Statue)

On Saturday on St. Patrick’s Street, the fun continues right in the heart of the city with free, family fun. Take a trip down St. Patrick’s Street and puruse the Barry’s Tea Market as you kick-back to enjoy the music. Watch the comedy antics of circus walkabouts or get making in children’s workshops.  

MAIN STAGE

1.30pm - JAMIE LAWSON

Jamie Lawson
Singer-songwriter Jamie Lawson’s song ‘Wasn't Expecting That’ has become a viral youtube hit.  Before settling in Cornwall, Jamie spent a year working and playing in the clubs of Ireland, fully immersing himself in the music scene and performing alongside the likes of Mundy, The Four of Us, Glen Hansard of The Swell Season, Tom Baxter and Gemma Hayes.

 

2.30pm – FRED

A hugely popular five piece from Cork who take the anguish, angst and pain out of rock 'n' roll, Fred are the people's band, making music for the people, by the super-people. "Startlingly good music" - HotPress

 

4.30 pm - PARISH

Guitarman
A great new line-up featuring some of Ireland’s top musicians,with DJ Donal Dineen.  Also featuring Rónán Ó Snodaigh from "Kila", Niwel Tsumbu, “Andre" drummer with the Republic of Llose.  They’ll be accompanied by Aminah as the lead singer and songwriter.  Irish but of Brazilian origin, she is the second half of band “Madu”.

Furious, funky, up-tempo carnival style drumming from this seven piece outfit based in Waterford. These guys really know their stuff, and exactly how to wind up a crowd. You have to catch what is probably the most exciting percussion act in Ireland.

Do you love getting your fingers messy?  Cutting, gluing and making?  Then you’re probably a crafty kid who likes to be creative. Artists Clare Horgan and Steph Atkins will help you make your own wonderful creation to bring home.

WOBBLY  CIRCUS
Based in the South East of  Ireland, Wobbly Circus have been entertaining audiences for many years now. Paul Wheel, the comedy ride-about character who juggles as he wizzes around on his penny farthing.  And Stilt Walker, Claire, with her high impact street show, as well as Will Wobbly, Stilt Walking King and Pole Spinner extraordinaire. Maybe he’ll let you have a go?!
